Ballindarroch House is situated in quiet countryside only 2 MILES from Loch Ness and 5 MILES from Inverness in the heart of the Highlands. Originally built in about 1850 as a shooting lodge this unique Victorian house now provides a very special BandB experience in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. The spacious rooms have been upgraded and individually furnished with pieces in keeping with the character of the house. Each bedroom has a private bathroom (bathrobes supplied) some with large genuine Victorian baths to soak in. Come and spoil yourself.A residents drawing room with its welcoming log fire and big comfy sofas is available for you to relax in after your day looking for the Loch Ness Monster. The River Ness and Caledonian Canal passes through the trees at the bottom of the garden which is ideal for a relaxing stroll at the end of the day. We welcome guests to our home and offer bed and breakfast accommodation in the traditional old-fashioned way.Set in 10 acres of secluded woodlands the gardens are filled with wonderful mature trees Spring flowers and rhododendrons with plenty of garden walks for you to take.A large variety of birdlife visits our garden feeding stations throughout the season including the Greater Spotted Woodpecker and Siskins along with Ospreys soaring above as well as a host of others. A birdwatcher's paradise! Regularly visiting our feeding stations we have several Red squirrels and on occasions Pine Martens.Our property is great for well behaved pets so your dog is welcome free of charge if you provide its own bedding and food.

Directions to Ballindarroch Country House
Ballindarroch House Bed and Breakfast is situated just ten minutes south of Inverness with Inverness airport a 30 minute drive away. From Inverness City CentreLook out for signs to Dores and Foyers (B862) - NB Not A862 - and ensure that you are on the south side of the river. Once on the B862 you are heading out of town towards Dores. Continue along this road for about 4 miles to Scaniport. Exactly 1 mile beyond the Scaniport sign you will see our white painted sign on the right. Turn right in here. Follow road for about mile then left at the fork (marked BandB). Once through the gate keep to the right and on up to house.Avoiding Inverness city CentreApproaching Inverness on the A9 (from the south) you travel down a long hill with the city in plain view. Towards the bottom of the hill (immediately after flyover) turn left at the sign Hilton and Culduthel.At the roundabout take 3rd exit signed Hilton and Culduthel (B8082). Continue straight along this bypass road and go directly over all roundabouts. At the Holm roundabout turn left onto the B.862 towards Dores. Continue along this road (B862) for about 2 miles to Scaniport. Then as above.
